Raised for Civic Education for Greater Houston Area
There is still time to support LWVH's mission and efforts for the year ahead.
From the moment Norah O'Donnell took the stage to the very last goodbye, the energy in that room was a powerful reminder of why this work matters. Your presence, your generosity, and your belief in democracy made this day unforgettable.
From our roots in the suffragette movement to the streets of Houston today. LWVH is on the ground across Harris County: the volunteers at tabling events, the educators in classrooms, and the leaders building toward a future where every Houstonian walks into every election informed and ready. Watch our LWVH mission video to learn more.
Keep the Momentum Going
Your gift fuels voter education and civic resources across the greater Houston area. Our work across Harris County and during every election, including the small ones, the runoffs, the special elections help fill where the information gap is widest and the need is the greatest.
We are building toward a future where every Houstonian walks into every election informed, where being a voter is just part of what it means to call this city home. That future takes resources, relationships, and people who believe in the mission. Your support makes all of it possible.

We the Women: The Hidden Heroes Who Shaped America
By Norah O'Donnell
A sweeping portrait of more than 35 remarkable women, from 1776 to today, whose courage, defiance, and vision helped build the country we live in, even as history largely forgot their names. Award-winning journalist Norah O'Donnell uncovers the women who printed the Declaration of Independence, fought in wars before they could vote, desegregated schools, broke open the courts, and demanded that America live up to its own founding promise. Written in honor of America's 250th birthday, this is the American story retold through the eyes of the women who shaped it, and a powerful reminder that progress has never arrived on its own.
